St. Louis Is Starting To Re-Open: Here's All The Deets
For better or worse, St. Louis is starting to open - but before you bust out of the house in all your stir-crazy glory, things are opening at different times and with different safety precautions, so we’ve got all your details here in chronological order. You’ll notice a common theme of masks.
First, we’ll start with the restaurant re-openings. There’s far too many to list and St. Louis Magazine has already done a really great job of it so we’ll link you to STLmag’s list of places open for limited dine-in or curbside.
St. Louis County Library began curbside service on June 3rd.
The St. Louis City Library will begin curbside service on June 10th and select branches.
The St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station, along with the wheel, ropes course, and restaurants will open on June 8th. In addition to capacity restrictions, masks and temperature checks are required along with other protocols.
The Zoo will open its doors on June 13th, but the reservation portal to get a slot will open at 9 a.m. June 8. In addition to reservations, the zoo will require masks, and you can find more guidelines here.
The Magic House will re-open for two-hour visit slots on June 15th and require masks, limit their capacity, and eliminate shared supplies.
The Art Museum will begin re-opening on June 16th with social distancing guidelines. Tickets are now on sale.
The Missouri Botanical Garden and Shaw’s Nature Reserve will both open on June 16th. Masks will be required, as well as timed reservations. They’ll have one-way paths and some areas will remain closed.
The City Museum will begin a limited opening on June 17th. The rooftop will still be closed and there will be restrictions.
The Missouri Historical Society announced that all branches, the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park, the MHS Library and Research Center, and Soldiers Memorial Military Museum will open on June 20. They will require masks and allow 10% capacity based on reservations.
The Science Center will re-open on June 20th with timed reservations, limited occupancy, reduced hours for additional cleaning, a mask requirement and one-way paths.
The first Food Truck Garden in Missouri, 9 Mile Garden will open on July 3rd at 9375 Gravois Road in Affton. Safety Measures will include masks, sanitizing stations, spaced-apart tables, and encouraged social distancing.
The Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House will start timed e-ticket entry with masks and limited capacity on July 7th.
The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra’s next planned show is beginning with "Revolution Music of the Beatles: A Symphonic Experience" on August 7th. Until then you can hear re-broadcasts of the Symphony on St. Louis Public Radio on Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m.
The Repertory Theater of St. Louis has delayed all performances until their Christmas show of A Christmas Carol set to open on December 4th.
The Black Rep has delayed all remaining performances until it’s next season.
